Cleaning grills sounds like an easy job, yet you still need to pay attention to some small details if you want to do it in a proper way. This is quite important in that a proper cleaning can ensure the good performance and extend service life.

Now BBQ specialist Royal Gourmet® will provide you with some important tips you’d better follow in cleaning your gas grills.

1

Before you start the cleaning job, you should pre-heat the grills first. Leave gas grills on high heat for about 15 minutes. In such case, the left-over food and grease will become loosen, which will make it easier to remove those later on.

Don’t forget to turn the gas off. This is critical in ensuring your safety. You can use the valve either on the propane tank or gasoline to turn it off.

Now you can clean the grates. A stiff wire brush dripped in water would be highly recommended in cleaning the grates. Also adding some dish soap to the water is helpful in dissolving the grease. After the steps above have been finished and the grates have cooled down, you are supposed to wipe the grates with a damp cloth to remove any residue or bristles. Always remember that it’s better to clean the grates while they are still warm after each use so that stuck-on food can be removed easily.

4

When the cleaning job is finished, coat the grates with cooking oil or vegetable oil. This will greatly reduce the amount of stuck-on food.

5

Next you need to clean the deflectors with dish soap and water, and then dry the deflectors with a towel. This step is necessary in order to reduce future flare-ups.

6

The following step is to remove any metal plates or covers above the burners and scrub them clean. You can use a sponge dipped in soapy water to scrub them.

7

When the cook box is empty, use a brush and warm soapy water to clean it.

8

Until now the interior side of the grill has been cleaned. You should also remember to clean the exterior side of the grill. It should be noted that if it’s a stainless steel grill, you would be suggested to use a kind of specially formulated stainless steel cleaner and a micro fiber cloth, in order to maintain its good status in appearance.

The entire job is almost done if you have finished the above tasks. Now you can protect your grill with Royal Gourmet® Grill Covers for better storage. Royal Gourmet® has various professional grill covers to offer that are applicable to most grills in the market.
